Shikha Goel- Additional Commissioner Of Police (Crimes & SIT), In Charge- She Teams & Bharosa Centres- Hyderabad, explains true spirit of women’s day.

Shikha Ma’am  believes that every single person must celebrate all genders. When we will come together to celebrate each other strongly and give equal opportunity for education, rights- that’s really the true spirit of women’s day!

Shikha Goel Ma’am is an MPhil graduate in botany from Delhi University, She joined the Indian Forest Service in 1995 and subsequently moved to the Indian Police Service

In her interview with You &I magazine, Shikha Ma’am said:

My hobbies and interests include reading, listening to music, and watching movies. She shared that her biggest challenge is maintaining an effective work-life balance. She added, “Working in a field that’s very demanding is a constant struggle. Especially when you need to make a mark for yourself in a highly male-dominated sector. At every level, you need not only prove yourself but also prove that you’re as good as your male colleagues. You’re under greater scrutiny; proving your mettle is crucial here.” On a parting note, she said, “We have a beautiful history we should be proud of. Let’s ensure that our present becomes a remarkable history for the future, and that people can look up to it.”

Salute to all officers who are in service of the nation 24x7x365.

Do tell us what you think about gender quality. Does your workplace practice it? What do you want to change specifically for making sure that genders are treated equally. We will wait to hear.
