DESPERATE FOR LIKES? #AAH
Most of us are becoming dependent on how others react to our pictures, posts & videos. When we get lot of likes & appreciation, we feel great but if less people like our posts- it’s depressing & demotivating.
This is called a need for ‘Validation’- a need to be told we are worthy. Are you desperate for social media likes too? In any case, a lot of people on our long list of social media are somewhat strangers. It’s impossible to have 500 “friends”! In reality we have just 4-5 genuine friends who are with us through our life then why should you depend on likes or dislikes of strangers?
This addiction to likes/dislikes can lead to serious mental health issues like feeling of rejection, depression, isolation, anxiety & worthlessness. If you are desperate for social media likes, it will also prevent you from sharing your true opinions. You will only post content that can get approval from majority, you will be influenced to share needless gossip or sensational content just cos you can also get some likes. Please detach yourself from this addiction.
Unplug from your tech devices for some time, spend time with real family & friends, read a book, engage in physical fitness exercises, build self-confidence.
